El meu besavi va anar a Cuba
GRAN BALL DE CARNAVAL amb músiques del Carnaval del Liceu i del compositor Felip Grau i Soler besavi de Jordi Pablo i Grau i Gonzalo Herralde i Grau.
Carnaval Marsupial / El meu besavi va anar a Cuba és un encà rrec que neix de la voluntat de posar en comú l'espectacle "Carnaval Marsupial" i el repertori del músic Felip Grau i Solé.  L'espectacle "Carnaval Marsupial" és un ball de carnaval basat en el repertori dels Carnavals del Gran Teatre del Liceu de mitjan segle xix. En una època en la qual el ball de societat era l'oferta d'oci per excel·lència, el Carnaval era el gran aparador d'un repertori a l'última moda creat per a l'ocasió. Galops i carruatges, redoves i revendes, rigodons i barrets de copa, valsos i mà scares, polques i tocadors de senyores, xotis i bigotis, americanes i aranyes de cristall, llancers i tasses de caldo..., aquest sarau era l'escenari ideal on posar de manifest la picaresca, les contradiccions i dualitats i el desgovern propis de la bullanga carnavalesca.
Els reculls de les composicions interpretades en aquest espectacle daten entre 1859 i 1866 i els compositors d'aquestes peces són coetanis amb Felip Grau (fins i tot alguns el coneixien) i els gèneres són els mateixos: D. José Jurch, Musard, J. Balaguer, B. Sabater, J. Coll, F. Goula, Dionisio Trullás, J. Roig, Josep Marraco.
 La producció, encarregada pel Festival Internacional Tradicionà rius, ha estat confeccionada conjuntament pel grup Marsupialis (música i guió), el besnét de Felip Grau i Solé, Jordi Pablo i Grau (documentació) i el seu cosÃ, Gonzalo Herralde i Grau (material grà fic i audiovisual).
Felip Grau i Soler
Nascut a Balaguer el 1829 i mort a Barcelona el 1880, Felpi Grau comença des de ben petit a interessar-se per la música estudiant cornetà i piano. L’any 1859, amb 30 anys, emprèn un viatge cap a l’Amèrica Central, a L’Havana, on es dedica a l’ensenyament musical i la venda d’instrument a l’acadèmia anomenada El Orfeón. Més tard, funda l’Orfeón Habanero sota la protecció del Dr. D. Miguel P. Guimerà , un espai composat principalment per joves catalans que vivien a la capital de la Gran Antilla.
L’orfeó es dóna a conèixer al Teatro Zacon de La Habana executant diverses composicions i bailes coreados. L’any 1864, Felip Grau comença a publicar una sèrie de composicions originals com ara ArmonÃas de Orfeo, que segons la premsa van tenir un gran èxit. Amb l’Orfeón Habanero organitza diferents concerts i festivals en què s’interpreten aquestes composicions. Els més importants van ser: la serenata de comiat del General Prim i un gran festival al Gran Teatro Tacon de La Habana, i balls de disfresses al Palacio de La Habana o al Liceo de Guanabacoa. L’any 1866 es produeix un gran incendi que crema per complert l’Acadèmia i l’any 1867 decideix retornar a Barcelona i dedicar-se a l’ensenyament musical. A casa seva va fer notables concerts amb músics de l’època com Biscarri, Barba, Marraco...
MarsupialisMarsupialis us presenta un Gran Ball de Carnaval amb els hits dels seixanta del segle XIX. Músiques dels compositors de més renom de l'època, que sonaven als Carnavals del Liceu, i del besavi Felip Grau, fundador de l'Orfeón Habanero a Cuba.
